Street protests extend to Beirut and Bekaa

First it was in Tripoli. Then Saida and Chouf. Now Beirut too, Sunni and mixed Shia -Sunni areas. It’s gonna be a long night. Residents blocked streets with burning tires, stones and garbage bins. The road to Damascus was also closed in Bekaa.

The “Hariri people” are really going out to support their leader. They even announced a peaceful demonstration in Downtown Beirut, from Rafik Hariri’s grave to Samir Kassir’s statue to support Saad Hariri’s candidature to heading the new government and to make a statement that burning tire is not the way to solve the problem. (so they say.)
